Keftadakia (Meat Balls)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound Chopped Veal
  • 1/2 pound Chopped Pork
  • 1 medium Red Onion grated
  • 1 Garlic Clove grated
  • 3 tbsp Greek Olive Oil
  • 3 tbsp Parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Mint finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Flour for dusting
  • Greek Olive Oil for frying
  • Arugula Leaves to garnish

Directions


In a large frying pan, preheat olive oil and start frying meatballs till brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.


Serve the meatballs garnished with arugula leaves.


We remove the bowl from the refrigerator, take pieces of chopped meat mixture and shape them into meatballs. We then flour each one and dust as to remove excess flour.


Cover bowl with plastic wrap and put into refrigerator for about 1 hour, so flavors can incorporate.


In a large bowl, add all the ingredients, except for the chopped meat and combine together. Now add the chopped meat and using two forks, mix to combine. This way the meat mixture will be fluffier.
